Apprentice Laboratory Technician
Due to increased workload, we are now looking for an Apprentice Laboratory Technician for our Tiverton Laboratory.
We are looking for an outgoing individual that is seeking a role in a laboratory.
The role will largely focus on assisting the technicians prepare and test samples of soil and rock to nationally recognised standards.
The ideal candidate will be methodical in their approach, organised and a team player.
Being physically fit with good literacy and numeracy skills are desirable.

Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer
South West Geotechnical Ltd is a privately owned, ambitious and growing company in Devon that is looking for an Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer to join the team.
In summary, your responsibilities would include the design and management of ground investigations with the delivery of geotechnical reports. Work sectors include housing, roads, capital infrastructure and renewables with subject areas including (but not limited to) foundation options appraisals, slope stability assessments, earthworks management and geo-environmental / land quality appraisals.
The role would be both office and site based.
Ideally, you will have a relevant degree (Geology or similar) and at least 2 years relevant experience. A relevant Masters would also be favourable.
We would also expect the following essential skills:
General working knowledge of ground engineering
Logging of soils and rocks to British Standards / Eurocode
Computer literacy in MS Office
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Working knowledge geotechnical software Holebase would be advantageous.
The majority of schemes are based in the south west, however, the role will also involve schemes throughout the UK.
